Many children's toys are made of silicone, such as toy cars and small toy figurines. Their parts or accessories often use silicone, and some are directly molded using silicone molds. 1. Toy silicone may experience mold burning.

When unsaturated resin and resin products are mixed with peroxide curing agents, the reaction with the resin generates a significant amount of heat. Typically, resin curing takes 3 minutes, so demolding should be done as soon as possible after 3 minutes to prevent the silicone mold from burning.

2. Toy silicone may appear dry on the surface but remain uncured inside.

Toy silicone is a condensation-cure silicone that hardens by absorbing moisture from the air. If the moisture is evaporated during the production process and an adequate amount of water is not added, this phenomenon may occur.

Solution: This is not a product quality issue but rather a result of improper moisture control. To extend the storage life and shelf life of silicone, such phenomena may occur. Simply add an appropriate amount of water when using the silicone and mix thoroughly to resolve this issue.

3. Toy silicone may exhibit poor tensile strength.

During the mold-making process, a large amount of silicone oil is often added to reduce the viscosity of the silicone for easier handling. This can make the silicone too soft, resulting in low tear resistance, reduced tensile strength, and poor durability. Consequently, the mold may not be durable, have a short lifespan, and allow fewer molding cycles.
